Portable bar adds gold touch to mystery play
The Lancastrian Players are performing a play with a ghostly touch called The Death of Me, by Christine Foster, this weekend.
The Players were trying to create a bar area from scratch but were aided when a friend of a cast member was able to lend the group the gleaming 1960s bar for their stage set.

“And it saved us having to try and make one!
“This play is really unusual and when we performed it last weekend the audiences seemed to like it.
“it’s not easy to get people to go out at night and leave their TV sets behind but it’s worth it if they do because it’s a night out with a difference.
“We also offer a cup of tea or coffee at the break so people won’t go thirsty. We do biscuits as well.”

It sees a husband and wife, who both died mysteriously within an hour of each other, trying to turn detective after meeting up in a strange after-life.
They are able to go back to the scene a couple of hours before they died to try and piece things together.
But things are not so easy as they hoped.
Audiences can expect some unusual twists and turns all the way.
The play is being staged at Bispham Community Centre, Bispham Road, on Saturday at 7.30pm and Sunday at 6.30pm.
Entry is pay on the door and includes programmes.
