Years five and six at Devonshire Primary Academy to self-isolate after teacher tests positive for coronavirus

In an announcement this evening, headteacher Daniel Simm informed parents with children in the two year groups they would need to self-isolate until October 5.
Staff working within each year group at the Devonshire Road school have also been ordered to stay at home.

Hide AdSiblings of pupils in years five and six will be allowed to continue attending the school, as per "advice given by authority at Blackpool Council."
Mr Simm said: "It is with regret that I have to inform you that a teacher has tested positive this evening for Covid-19.
"As a result of this positive result and on the advice given by Blackpool Borough Council and The Sea View Trust, we have had to make the difficult decision to close the Year five and Year six bubbles to both children and staff for a 14 day self–isolation period.
"School will therefore reopen for both the children and staff in these year groups on Monday 5th October 2020.

Pupils in the affected classes will continue with home-learning until their return to school.
