Athlete backs family sports day event
The two-time silver medalist, who comes from Layton, showed her support for the family fun day event at Blackpool Sports Centre on Sunday.
She said: “I want to support kids getting involved in sport because for me that’s where it all started.

Hide Ad“Even if they don’t have dreams of taking it to the next level, it’s really important for kids to be active and healthy – and it’s also a lot of fun.”
“Sport plays a big part in our lives whether you’re just keeping fit or keeping active with friends.”
The free event saw youngsters treated to a wide variety of Olympic sports, such as gymnastics, basketball, table tennis and martial arts.
They were also given the rare chance to have their photo taken with the Olympic Torch, courtesy of ex-wheelchair athlete Dave Burns, chosen to carry the torch through Cleveleys in the London 2012 Olympics.
