Major manhunt after 36-year-old is stabbed in the eye
The 36-year-old's assailant fled following the attack, which happened in Harrison Street at around 10.40pm, sparking an urgent manhunt.
The victim, who was taken to Royal Preston Hospital with serious injuries, was this morning due to have emergency surgery, a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

Hide AdA 26-year-old man was arrested in Lytham Road, South Shore, at 11.24pm, on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remained in custody this morning.
The police helicopter was called out from Warton to help with the search, and saw a man hiding in bushes along the railway embankment in South Shore.
