Blackpool Tower lights up in Union Flag colours in memory of Prince Philip

The Tower lit up red, white, and blue last night following the death of Prince Philip at the age of 99.

Visit Blackpool, the resort's tourism board, said the attraction would remain in the Union Flag colours until the mourning period has ended.

The nation yesterday entered eight days of mourning for the Duke of Edinburgh. Flags will be flown at half-mast, presenters on television will wear black, and no new laws will be passed by Parliament.
