Car flips onto roof in Lytham as motorists warned to drive carefully on icy roads

A car slipped off the road as it was travelling along Ballam Road due to the icy conditions at around 10am today (December 29).
An image released by the fire service shows the car landed on its roof as a result of the incident, with it seemingly landing in someone's garden.

Hide AdFirefighters say everyone in the vehicle managed to escape "safe and well", but they are now urging motorists to drive to the conditions.
A spokesman for Lytham Fire Station said: "Car on its roof, roads are slippy and icy.
"Please adapt to these conditions accordingly. Thankfully, everyone safe and well."
The warning comes after residents across Lancashire woke up to find snow and ice, with police reporting they attended "lots of collisions" due to the weather.

Hide AdDeputy Chief Constable Terry Woods tweeted: "Listening to @LancsPolice radio on the way into work - lots of collisions coming in as the snow falls heavily in East Lancs.
"Please be careful out there and slow down folks"."
Meteorologists have now said the freezing conditions are set to continue with more snow and ice set to arrive later today and tomorrow (December 30).
The first yellow weather warning for ice is in place from 6pm today (December 29) until 10am tomorrow (December 30).
A second yellow weather warning for snow, which covers all of Lancashire, has also been put in place from 6pm tomorrow (December 30) until 2pm tomorrow morning (December 31).

- Look well ahead for potential hazards – including, of course, patches of ice – and keep your speed well down.
- Accelerate, brake, steer and change gear as smoothly as possible to reduce the risk of a skid.
- A higher gear may be more appropriate to aid grip on packed ice.
