Vulnerable man sparks call-out in Blackpool
Police, a Coastguard Rescue Team and RNLI lifeboat were called out to Blackpool Central Pier at around 7.40pm on Tuesday, April 17 to reports of a man entering the water.
The man is said to have entered the water up to his knees before he was stopped by police.

Hide AdA spokesman for the Coastguard said: "Our volunteers were called after Lancashire Police received an emergency call, from a vulnerable male stating he was entering the water near Blackpool Central Pier.
"As our Coastguard Rescue Officers arrived on scene, they found four Police Officers from Blackpool Police who had stopped the male entering the water any further.
"The male had walked into the water up to his knees."
The man was taken into the care of the Police. All rescue teams were stood down just before 8pm.
