Wesham women team up for top-10 finish
Wesham had fewer entrants than in previous years but the women, in particular, turned out a few runners.
On the 8K course, Sarah Sherratt was 37th in 32:39 with Emma Lund 38th in 32:42.

Hide AdKath Hoyer won the Lancashire W55 gold medal with 34:32, giving her 49th overall, while Jenn Thompson (54th, 36:32) completed the Wesham women’s team in 10th place and the veterans’ team sixth.
The senior men’s race was over 10K with Steve Myerscough 104th in 41:58, Martin Bates 149th in 50:37 and Ben Wrigley 152nd in 55:13.
Kath Hoyer ushered in the New Year at John Schofield’s New Year Awakener in Whitworth, finishing 37th in 27:27 with Dave Waywell 62nd in 32:02.
Two Wesham runners took on the Central Lancashire Half Marathon with David Taylor 14th in 1;24.59 and Finlay McCalman 351st in 2:18.05.

Hide AdKath Hoyer was in action again in the Hit the Trail run in Stockport on Sunday, where she was 132nd in 39:13 and Dave Waywell 236th in 45:34.
The Lytham Hall parkrun saw Phil Leaver and Gary Moore both run 25:21, leading in Kay Twist (25:48), Graham Cunliffe (27:16), Kerry Eccles (27:24), Martyn Taylor (27:55), Sally Deacon (29:46) and Debbie Bell (31:38).
Preston saw Steve Myerscough finish in 19:57, Robert Brown 26:56 and Debbie Myerscough 31:46, while Steve Pike clocked 25:17 at St Helens.
The Gore family was at the Ganavan Sands parkrun near Oban, where Steven ran 20:30, Megan Gore 46:50 and Vicky Gore 48:02, while Carl Groome (20:27) and Sue Rigby (32:06) were at Conwy.
