Star violinist returns to thank orchestra
Alexandra will perform virtuoso showstopper Saint Saens Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso at Blackpool Symphony Orchestra’s final concert of the season at 7.30pm at St Andrew’s Church, Rough Lea Road, Thornton Cleveleys.
The concert also features Mozart’s Magic Flute overture, Brahms’ Fourth Symphony and Gounod’s Petite Symphonie for Wind. Alexandra made her concerto debut playing the Bruch violin concerto with the orchestra before studying the violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Alexandra, born and raised in Blackpool, says: “It’s a real pleasure to come back and play with the orchestra. As a student the opportunity to perform a concerto with the orchestra at that stage in my career was invaluable.”
