Officers cordoned off the junction between Talbot Road and Foxdale Avenue after a 17 year-old boy was stabbed this afternoon.

A spokesperson for Lancashire Police said: "We were called at 2.12pm by paramedics, to reports a teenager had been stabbed on Talbot Road, Blackpool.

"A 17 year-old boy was taken to Blackpool Victoria Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.

"Police remain at the scene and inquiries are ongoing."

A spokesperson for North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.08pm to Talbot Road.

"We attended with an ambulance and rapid response car and took a male patient to hospital."
