Blackpool are facing defeat for a League One wing-back who looks set for a move to Scotland.

Blackpool are now facing competition from the Scottish Premiership to sign Cheltenham Town defender Will Ferry.

Earlier this month it was reported that the Seasiders were interested in signing Robins wing-back Ferry. Ferry was offered a new contract by Cheltenham but it doesn’t look like he’ll be extending his stay.

GloucestershireLive's Cheltenham Town reported Jon Palmer earlier this month said that Ferry was subject of interest from Scotland as well as the EFL. In mid-May, Blackpool were listed as one of those clubs by The Real EFL and now The Courier in Scotland claims that Dundee United want to sign Ferry.

A move to Tannadice Park looks the more likeliest out of the two if reports in Scotland are anything to go by. The Daily Record say the Terrors 'look to have won the fight' to sign Ferry. Dundee United are hoping to 'finalise a deal' for the former Southampton player over the coming days. Blackpool will now have to look elsewhere for a new wing-back unless they make an offer that stumps Dundee.

Ferry has been at Cheltenham Town for the last two seasons. He has a played a total of 82 times for the Gloucestershire outfit and missed just three league matches this term. In his two years with Cheltenham he has created 10 goals, scoring twice and registering eight assists.
